Road Trippin’ With The Divine Mother

Pilgrimages are sacred journeys undertaken for spiritual or personal reasons, with holy places visited along the way. They are present in all cultures and religions.

One of the universal components of ‘pilgrimage’ is transformation. On pilgrimage we encounter reality and therefor are ourselves transformed by the Divine Mother.

In our faith, Isis ‘The Lady Who Hears’ plays a unique role as a “Mother of Wanderers.” She consoles and protects us in our sacred wanderings, and she ‘gives birth’ to pilgrimage sites with her Grace.

This is especially evident in the title of Isis from roman times, “Our Lady of the Way.” Beloved universally by Romans and all influenced by their spirituality, devotee Apuleius first encountered Her while he wandering on the streets in Rome. She became the beloved patroness of many in Rome, itself as they spread across the globe, and a fitting image of Isis as the “Mother of travelers”, who cares for us as she cared for her son, Horus traveled with them on their journeys as they wandered the planet!

Isis, interestingly enough, often is “transformed” in Her apparitions, changing clothes, age and language, even race and skin color, depending on who She is appearing to as seen when She arose from the sea on a moon lite night to greet Apuleius and save him from himself in Alexandria, Egypt.

She made this promise to him “Weep No More, Lament No Longer, For The Hour Of Your Deliverance Is At Hand!” And that promise of active salvation hold truth today!
